For those of you who made the rope intensive we had last year you probably can guess what that means, for the rest of you, I'll describe it. January 14, 2012Sensory Deprivation with Ralinad Class Description Many kinksters start their journey with a blindfold, and it remains a useful tool with the even the most experienced players. Effectively blocking sight and the other senses can be a challenge. This discussion will explore varied techniques and equipment to help remove or modify sensory input, for both short and long term scenes. From quick techniques to isolate a bottom so they won't know whats next, to more extreme levels of sensory deprivation for relaxation and meditation. Various pieces will be on-hand to spark new ideas for this kind of play, please bring your own ideas as well. Presenter Bio Tall, bald, creative guy. I'm always making something. Good meals, leather toys, latex clothes, furniture, desserts with sugar and booze, photos, or whatever strange new toy I happen to be building at the moment. I do design and photography, both for my vanilla company as well as kink events and publications. Some of my kink photography and toymaking tutorials can be seen at smutcraft.com, but thats limited to those I have releases for. I've developed and taught a few classes for groups around the midwest. Toymaking in various forms, "things that go thud in the night", varied rope and non-rope bondage, sensory deprivation/manipulation, and photography for kinky folk. December 10, 2012December Potluck and Food Drive Every year Satyricon takes a break from the hectic holiday season to focus entirely on our community. We are part of the Madison Kink community, which we want to help continue to grow and thrive, so this December we will be holding our annual potluck. I'm sure you've been to plenty of holiday potlucks, but Satyricon's has always been special to me. We build up our community with open discussion so we all may be heard. Our friends, acquaintances, and complete strangers come together, to get to know each other better and tighten those bonds. And this year we'll be helping those in the Madison community by gathering food and household items together for our local food shelter at the Goodman Center. November 12, 2011Embracing Diversity with Sarah Slone Class Description While birds of a feather often flock together, the reality is that without sharing our knowledge & efforts with people from other backgrounds & with different interests, our community can become stale and uninspiring. But when we talk about diversity, most of us get uncomfortable, especially when we want to become more inclusive but we do not know how. Lets have an open & honest discussion about how to bridge the gap between orientations, ages, interests, genders, and races with tact, sensibility and a little humor. Bring yourself, leave your assumptions at the door, and take away some new ideas! Presenter Bio Sarah Sloane is a sexuality and relationship educator who has shared her knowledge all over the world. We are so lucky she moved from the east coast to the midwest and is able to make it up here to teach for us! Also, she's hilarious and a wonderful human being to boot, so there is that. Sarah has so many amazing classes, but we were able to pick this one that we know you'll all love. October 8, 2011Exploratorium Class Description When October rolls around we have our annual Exploratorium. What's that? You don't know what an Exploratorium is? Think of it as a kinky sampler platter. We're going to have different stations where you can try kinky things with some very experienced players! What can you try out? You can feel the tingle of a violet wand or some other electric toys with Pogertt, get a little tied up with Sir_Wieland and his rope, or get poked by one or two of June Day's needles or a slice by her scalpels. Not piquing your interest yet? Okay, how about lettingJinxedkisses fire cup you, Vield show you some tantalizing pervertables,E_Nelly pop a few of your cells, or Vesper cane you as was done to him eight years ago. If you're in need of a break between all of the action we will be providing a socializing space with some juice, water, and snacks. So, what are you waiting for? Come on out on October 8th from 3:30-5:30pm, and bring your friends who are a bit nervous or new to this. Or just the ones who like trying new things. Or you like making try new things ;) September 10, 2011Strap-On Sexcapades 101 with Vadoma Class Description All genders are welcome to learn more about the pleasures to be had from wielding or receiving a dildo during strap-on sexual play. This workshop is equally appropriate for heterosexual couples who want to try pegging, lesbian couples who enjoy penetration, gay men who want a cock that never gets soft, transmen exploring their authentic identities, or gender queer individuals of any flavor. You will learn how to choose a dildo and harness, cleanliness and safe sex when using strap-on toys, dildo use for oral/vaginal/anal play, and role playing. Presenter Bio Vadoma is a sexuality and kink educator who has worked with The Tool Shed (Milwaukee, WI) for several years. She presents at regional events, conferences, and sex shops in the Midwest. She believes that during sexual experience we have the ability to connect on a primal and visceral level beyond words, where we are most ourselves. Vadoma teaches with a scholar's passion for deep exploration and a best friend's sincere regard. Contact her at vadomaprimal@gmail.com. August 13, 2011Dungeon Monitor Training with Min Class Description Dungeon safety is an ever present concern among those involved with BDSM. This event is being offered those who would like to get basic information on what is involved with being a DM, what to look for, what to expect, what to do, and also, what not to do. We will also address what to do and NOT do if the need arises to interact with law enforcement in the course of DM duties. So whether you actually want to be a Dungeon Monitor somewhere or just become more informed, this will be for you. This will simply be an educational and informational opportunity for the community to come out and learn the general ins and outs of being a Dungeon Monitor Presenter Bio Min, the Minister of Sinister, knows about being a good Dungeon Monitor, nay, a great dungeon monitor July 9, 2011July Picnic For those of you familiar with Satyricon tradition(or those of you who read the title of this post), you already know what we're doing in July, a picnic! Every year we get together to break bread, share delicious food, and enjoy each other's company in the lovely Wisconsin summer, no meeting topic, just good friends, good summer food, and plenty of fresh air. June 11, 2011Pony Play This month we are proud to present our local pony, Ravenous leading us into the wide world of Pony Play. May 14, 2011Rope Intensive Class Description We're trying something new here at Satyricon, and we're calling it an "intensive". Groups often have trouble putting on classes that go beyond the 101 level and we're anticipating this to be a great way to reach people at all levels. Instead of having one presenter in front of everyone we're going to have a number of stations around the room each with an instructor. Each station is going to be focused on a different sort of tie: cuffs, chest harnesses, karadas, et cetera. The stations will be more free form lessons than structured classes; this way everyone who comes will get a lot more personal attention. You'll have time to practice, get personalized lessons, and get one on one attention from the instructor, all in a casual environment. Our instructors are going to be DeviantTouch, ElevateinWI, Jfoto, Sir_Wieland, and Vesper. For those of you who have been to one of our Exploratoriums this will be similar to those, but instead of getting a taste at each station you'll be learning how to cook the dish. We would appreciate everyone who can to bring their own rope as there will be a lot of hands on experience potential, but if you don't have any don't worry, I'm sure some people will have some spare rope they'd be willing to share. April 9, 2011Social Adeptness Class Description Ever feel awkward at an event? Not know how to start treat newcomers without coming off as creepy? Want to know how better to deal with those who are being awkward or creepy at you? This class covers it all, from basics for newcomers to advice for group leaders in tough situations. Or if you already know how to handle all social situations please come share with us as I don't have everything figured out yet. |
